The Home and Community Care Nurse Care is responsible for assisting clients and their support systems in maintaining the highest possible level of independence and functioning in the least restrictive environment within a rural community setting. 

Qualifications and Requirements: A Practical Nursing diploma is required.  Two years’ experience in nursing assessment skills with special emphasis on home care; two years’ experience working in a First Nation community or equivalent organization candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.

Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week

Must have: A satisfactory Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Search; travel is essential to the First Nation communities serviced by Dilico Health Services; ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Unit Manager or designate in relation to service delivery requirements;  must have a valid CPR and Standard First Aid certificate; as a regulated health care provider, must provide evidence of registration with the appropriate regulatory bodies (CNO & RNAO); must possess a valid G Driver’s License and access to a reliable personal vehicle and must have $1,000,000 liability insurance.
