We are looking for a Child and Family Counsellor Summer Student!

The Dilico Integrated Model of Care brings together a wide range of services and programs to support children, youth, and families to live their good life – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We offer services, rooted in culture, that address diverse issues related to child welfare, mental health & addictions, and primary health. Our Student Placement program welcomes students from a variety of different university and college programs to gain valuable experience and skills with us.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the SNAP® Program Manager, the SNAP® Child and Family Counsellor will ensure the current developmental, treatment, and psycho-social needs of children, youth, and families are met by actively participating in the provision of assessment and treatment.

SNAP® Child and Family Counsellors (CFCs) have a sound understanding of the theories that inform the development and treatment of problem behaviours and emotional difficulties in latency-aged children and their families. CFCs must engage often hard-to-reach clients and work collaboratively with the family to develop a treatment plan tailored to their individual strengths and needs, managing risky behaviours when necessary.

Requirements:  A post-secondary college or university student returning to school full-time in September 2023 and within to funding constraints – students must be 15-30 years of age.
