NURSE PRACTITIONER (RAAM)

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) of the Rapid Access Addictions Medicine (RAAM) clinic will provide addictions care to clients and their families within an interdisciplinary model. The approach to care is strengths-based and rooted in evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence.
Qualifications and Requirements: A minimum BSCN, Primary Health Care NP (PHCNP) Certificate with RNEC designation with the college of nurses. Knowledge and experience with all stages of substance abuse from intoxication through withdrawal, and maintenance for all commonly abused substances (alcohol, opioids, nicotine, marijuana, and cocaine). Excellent communication, interpersonal and teaching skills. Sensitivity to the needs of a multicultural community and diverse populations. Experience in primary care settings (community-based preferred). Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Thorough knowledge and proficiency in current nursing procedures, nursing assessment, physical assessment and treatment measures. Suboxone trained and experienced. Methadone course (or eligible to complete).
Hours of Work: 16.5 hours per week
Must have: The ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Family Health Team Manager in relation to service requirements; Criminal records check\vulnerable sector screening is required upon hiring; must possess a class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a reliable, personal vehicle with $1,000,000 liability insurance.
