Adult Residential Treatment Centre

A residential treatment for adult women and men offering five-week, inpatient drug and alcohol recovery assistance including admission, treatment and aftercare. Healing is assisted through multi-disciplinary treatment within a safe, private facility located in Fort William First Nation. The centre of the Adult Residential Treatment Centre building features a Spiritual Room designed as a sweat lodge around which all movement circles.

The program combines traditional aboriginal teachings and ceremonies, individual and group support, and the 12-Step Program, which emphasizes abstinence as an essential element of treatment. Participation in traditional aboriginal observances is optional. Clients also participate in a community-based outreach program/relapse-prevention. Clients residing in Thunder Bay may continue with a 12-week aftercare program. Early intervention and aftercare services are also offered in the District.
