DISTRICT INTAKE WORKER

1-Up to One Year Contract,
Location:  Nipigon

The Intake Worker is responsible to manage the day to day operations of the Access Network and will ensure that completed intakes are distributed to the appropriate agency(s) for further processing.  All services provided must be consistent with the philosophy, approach, goals and learning environment established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care. The primary responsibility of this position is to complete all Children’s Mental Health referrals using Agency and Ministry documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements:  An HBSW Degree is preferred.  A minimum two-year Human Service Diploma is required. Experience working with the Child & Adolescent Needs & Strengths (CANS) and Client Information Management System (CIMS) would be considered an asset; crisis intervention experience would be considered an asset; Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.

Hours of Work:   32.5 hours per week

Must have: A satisfactory criminal records check; a valid standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended; the ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Access & District Mental Health Services Manager in relation to service requirements;  travel substantially in the communities and around the District of Thunder Bay; a valid Class “G” Driver’s License, access to a reliable, personal vehicle; and $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance.
