DIRECTOR OF SERVICE - CHILD WELFARE

The Director of Service is responsible for the functioning and development of child welfare. The Director of Service is responsible to ensure that children are safe and protected and to ensure that the policies, standards and procedures related to child welfare are maintained, applied and communicated to staff and are within the legal framework of the Child and Family Services Act and Ministerial reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:  MSW or HBSW; or a BA with five or more years of direct service with Anishinabek children, adolescents and families in child welfare services; and three or more years management and supervisory experience in child welfare services.  Five or more years direct service with Anishinabek children, adolescents and families in child welfare services;  three or more year’s management and supervisory experience in child welfare services.

Must have:  The ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Executive Director in relation to service requirements; must posses a Class “G” Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle with $1 million liability insurance; a criminal records check is required.
