CASUAL CHILD AND YOUTH WORKERS
School Based Intensive Treatment Services

The Casual Child And Youth Worker will ensure the current developmental needs of children in his/her care are met by actively participating in either the development of an assessment or with treatment. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide care for the children and youth, that are consistent with the philosophy, approach, goals and learning environment established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care which will ensure the social, emotional and physical well-being of children and youth.
Qualifications and Requirements: A grade 12 combined with relevant experience required. A three-year Child and Youth Worker Diploma is preferred. Diplomas in human services will be considered. Relevant experience working with children may be considered also. Experience in working with Anishinabek children and youth with mental health issues. Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
Hours of Work: Casual – as needed
Wage Range: $18.25 per hour
Must have: A satisfactory Criminal Records Search; must possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain one; ability to work shift work and report to work on short notice in relation to service requirements; must posses a Class “G” Driver’s Licence and must have access to a personal vehicle; must complete a medical and receive the required immunizations as recommended by the local medical officer of health; (residential only); must participate in, qualify for certification and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training as provided by the Agency.
