The Mental Health Nurse is responsible for, in collaboration with an interdisciplinary clinical team, provide support, assessment, education and planning services to the families and clients who are experiencing mental health and health challenges.

Qualifications and Requirements:  A four year BScN degree is required; a Case Management Certificate and or Mental Health related training will be considered an asset; knowledge, analytical skills and experience in the field of Indigenous mental health. Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, case conferencing, assisting in research and development if required, ongoing evaluation of service delivery, addressing gaps in service delivery and implementing change as required bettering servicing the clients. Previous work experience with the Anishinabek is required.  Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.

Hours of Work:  32.5 hours per week

Must have:  A satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search; possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain one; possess a valid Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle; and ability to travel and work flexible hours as determined by the Unit Manager or designate in relation to service delivery requirements.
