CHILD AND YOUTH WORKERS
Day Treatment Services
2-Up to One Year Contract, Thunder Bay

The Child and Youth Worker is responsible for providing assessment, intervention, treatment, advocacy and support for Anishinabek children and youth who are experiencing difficulty functioning in a regular classroom setting because of social, emotional and/or behavioral concerns.
Qualifications and Requirements: A minimum three-year Child and Youth Worker Diploma is preferred. A diploma in a related field may be considered. Experience in day treatment services or special education programming is preferred; related work with children and/or youth involving the development and implementations of social and behavioral programming is required; experience in working with Anishinabek children and youth with special needs and their families; candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Must have: A satisfactory criminal records check; the ability to work flexible hours; a valid Class “G” Driver’s License; access to a reliable, personal vehicle; $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance; must possess a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate or be willing to obtain one within six months of hire; must participate in and qualify for certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training provided by the agency; must complete and maintain certification in CANS and other relevant Ministry of Children and Youth Services Initiatives.
