Adult Residential Treatment Centre

A voluntary residential treatment program for adults 18+ years of age with longstanding mental health and addictions problems.

Service Overview

  • 4-5 Week, 20-bed, coed Facility
  • Coordinated access, intake, eligibility and consent
  • Client-centered, strength-based approach to wellness; identifying strengths, needs and risks
  • Case Management
  • Counselling & Clinical Support
  • Therapeutic community includes principles of peer support, cooperation, open communication and shared rehabilitation goals
  • Service Planning and Review
  • Discharge/transition planning and preparation

Adult AfterCare Program

A 10 week support service extension of the Adult Residential Treatment process.  Offers a structured relapse prevention program, education and group therapy. Assistance with integration back into the Community is provided. Individual sessions are available, upon request.


Post Treatment Supportive Housing Services

Offers individuals who complete addictions treatment with a 3 - 6 month post-treatment supportive housing option.

Service Overview

  • Case management and addictions aftercare services
  • Individuals will be linked to housing and social support services, mental health and counselling services, health services, employment and education services

Rapid Access Addiction Management (RAAM) Services

Provides immediate access for individuals seeking treatment for any substance use disorder.  The RAAM Clinic is located at the NorWest Community Health Centre, 525 Simpson Street.

Service Overview

  • Will connect individuals with the appropriate level of treatment based on their needs
  • No referral is required: people can obtain services when they are ready to seek assistance with addiction

Adult Mental Health Services (In-City)

A client-centered, voluntary service for Anishinabek adults 18+ years residing in the city of Thunder Bay that offers a range of Mental Health & Addictions Services.

  • Therapeutic Counselling Services; Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Case Management, Assessment
  • Individual, and/or Family Treatment, Therapeutic Groups
  • Client advocacy

Adult Mental Health Services (District)

Provides counselling and case management to assist individuals in First Nation communities with Mental Health concerns, substance misuse and social and behavioural difficulties.  Includes a collaborative and integrative approach with the First Nation social teams and health, education and legal systems. Services are available throughout the Robinson Superior Treaty Area and a portion of Algoma.  Localized offices are located in, Longlac, Pic Mobert First Nation, Nipigon and Whitesand First Nation.
