ABORIGINAL HEALTHY BABIES HEALTHY CHILDREN NURSE

The Aboriginal Healthy Babies Healthy Children (AHBHC) Nurse is responsible for the development, provision and maintenance of a network of health and social service providers to ensure that Aboriginal families with children (prenatal to age 6) who are at risk of physical, mental and social problems have access to a range of prevention and early intervention services.
Qualifications and Requirements: A Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required as well as additional training pertaining to working with families, etc. Experience working with Aboriginal families and children required. Lay home visiting experience and mental health nursing background will be considered an asset.
Must have: Travel is essential to the First Nation communities serviced by Dilico Health Services; ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Unit Manager or designate in relation to service delivery requirements; must provide evidence of registration with the appropriate regulatory bodies (College of Nurses and Registered Nurses Association of Ontario); a valid Class “G” Driver’s License; access to a reliable, personal vehicle; $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance and a valid Standard First Aid/CPR certificate is required.
